An exciting new development for the group! -   We are offering a series of creative workshops in the beautifully restored Pump Room situated on The Crescent in the centre of Buxton, during September & October.

All the workshop leaders are members of the group and are experienced teachers of their art & craft. The price of £35 per workshop includes all materials & light refreshments. Pre-Booking is essential.  NB Two workshops are operating on each date.

Monday 9th September 6.00pm – 8.30pm

Lucy Gell: Lino printmaking £35

Design and hand carve a two colour lino print of your own choice, taking inspiration from the beautiful surroundings of Buxton. Lucy will guide you through the process to achieve exciting results using this traditional printmaking technique.  


Hannah Dodd: Dry needle felting £35

Using a barbed needle this dry felting method will enable you to create your own character in three dimensional form. Make either a felt character or animal brooch pin.

Joanna Allen: Drypoint Printing £35

Drypoint printing to include some chine-collé which allows you to add colour to the prints.

Workshop inspired by Buxton architecture.


Suzanne Horwell: Wire sculpting £35

Create your own wire sculpted aquatic scene, including fish and reeds. Learn how to twist and bend the wire with chain nosed pliers, creating the outline of the finished sculpture and knitting the wire through the shape to create a miniature wire sculpture.

Pauline Townsend: Introduction to Silk Painting £35

Learn how to use silk paints & apply the resist medium called gutta. Then paint colourful fish on 100% silk, inspired by Buxton water and set your finished painting in a mount to take home.


Adele Kime: Jewellery making £35
Make an aluminium pendant or earrings with coloured highlights - learn how to create texture, pattern stamp, form the metal and incorporate coloured anodised aluminium pieces to create your own unique pair of earrings or pendant.

Monday 21st October 6.00pm – 8.30pm £35

Louise Jannetta: Painting with acrylic inks & watercolour

Experiment with a technique that lets you create detail with watercolour without losing the natural qualities of a watercolour wash. You’ll be painting a stained glass window from the Pump Room. All materials are provided but please bring along two watercolour brushes. 


Jenny Gartside: Wire & Bead Jewellery Making £35

Jenny will guide you how to make a pendant and a pair of earrings using wire wrapping and beading techniques. All materials are provided including sterling silver chain and silver plated ear wires.



   All bookings are taken on a first come, first served basis. In the event of a workshop being either fully booked or cancelled due to insufficient numbers, a full refund will be issued or you may transfer to another workshop.

If you wish to cancel a workshop after booking, a full refund will be offered if we can fill your place.
